Ancient Healing Therapies Logo and Images

Ancient Healing Therapies

581 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne City VIC 3000

Our signature Massage therapy is Seitai Japanese Massage. This healing and therapeutic Japanese massage is literally translated as 'Bone Therapy'. Seitai was developed by Kiyoshi Kato during the last century in Osaka, Japan and involves combining elements of Shiatsu and Western Chiropractic techniques.
Seitai pays attention to the importance of both skeletal and soft tissue structures; its principle is to restore the proper skeletal frame by manipulating soft tissue.

Importantly, Seitai is different from Chiropractic work because it never involves direct hands-on adjustments of the skeleton. Further to this, Seitai uses methods different from massage, taking into account the entire muscle structure and origin/insertion of the muscle ultimately creating a gentle, unique and deeply relaxing therapeutic massage

Seitai is performed by sponsored professionals from Japan and AHT prides itself on introducing this wonderful therapy to Australia. Many of our regular Seitai customers are those with postural disorders, tightness from working behind a desk or with very active bodies, all of which receive great benefit from this wonderful massage.
