Dracula’s is Australia’s longest-running and most successful theatre restaurant, having entertained over 3 millions guests over 30 years.

From the moment you arrive the entertainment begins! Be greeted at the door by blood-stained Draculettes, who will guide you up the stairs to the Graveyard Cocktail Lounge for a tall drink. After taking in the sites and magnificent movie memorabilia, board the Ghost Train into the Theatre of the Vampyre, where you will dine in Gothic splendour on a delicious three-course dinner before sinking your teeth into the latest ‘must-see’ production.

Dracula’s unique combination of comedy skits, carnival style novelty acts; mind-blowing puppetry and Berlin Burlesque all set to slick live music will ensure you have an unforgettable evening. After the show, souvenir photographs, shopping at the Shop of Horrors and cocktails with the cast will complete your evening of ‘Thrillertainment’.

STEPS GALLERY is a purpose built exhibition rental space on Lygon Street, Carlton South. It is owned & operated by the Meat Industry Employees Superannuation Fund since 1989. The space is ideal for work on walls, or small three dimensional works. Exhibitions have been held from all art mediums eg paintings, drawings, photographic, textiles, monotypes, jewellery, ceramics & sculptures.

The Gallery is a one room space. The entry is through the foyer of one of the City's most acclaimed modern buildings, with a highly polished parquetry floor and floor to ceiling glass doors opening into a glassed-in vibrant coffee shop at street level. Double doors lead from Cafe 62 into the gallery space, entry is also via the foyer area of the building. Rental of this space includes lighting, cleaned daily, hanging system (cables) are supplied. Use of the foyer area (if required) to hold opening functions.

Established in 1983 for collectors of early and modern Australian art, the Bridget McDonnell Gallery has been in its current Carlton location since 1986.

The grand Royal Exhibition Building is the world's only surviving Great Hall, constructed as an exhibition space and still used for that purpose.

Completed in 1880 for Melbourne's first International Exhibition, the Royal Exhibition Building was the site of Australia's first Federal Parliament in 1901. In 2004 it became Australia's first building to be given World Heritage listing.

With its meticulously restored interior, expansive galleries, soaring dome and decorative paintwork, the Great Hall is a magnificent setting for trade shows, fairs and cultural events. Tours run regularly, departing from the nearby Melbourne Museum; call 13 11 02 for details.

The design for the Royal Exhibition Building's dome was influenced by Brunelleschi's cathedral dome in Florence. The dome was first illuminated for the 1901 parliament and is still a spectacular sight when occasionally lit at night, appearing to hover over Melbourne's rooftops and visible for miles.

The first Trades Hall was built in 1859 by workers as a rallying point for the labour movement, following the successful Eight Hour Day campaign of 1856.

Between 1874 and 18925, the original timber structure was transformed into today's impressive building, with its classical columns and pediment. It remains Australia's oldest trades hall building still used for its original purpose.

The golden Eight Hour Day monument just across the road commemorates the workers who successfully campaigned to win the world's first eight-hour working day for Victoria's workforce.

Various rooms can be hired for events, including the Old Council Chambers theatre space, the New Ballroom function venue, the New Council Chambers meeting room and the Bella Union Bar.

At Melbourne Museum, Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre is a meeting place for Koorie people and for visitors interested in Aboriginal culture.

Take a journey through Aboriginal history and experience today's dynamic culture through objects, images and stories that illuminate connection to land.

From the natural environment to culture and history, Melbourne Museum explores life in Victoria. The museum includes a special gallery just for children.

Melbourne Museum highlights include a complete skeleton of a blue whale, the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre, a living rainforest, the racehorse Phar Lap and an IMAX theatre on site. Major international exhibitions are presented in the Touring Hall.

Museo Italiano tells the story of Victoria's Italian community, and as you'd expect there's a strong focus on Carlton's Italian heritage and history.

Exhibits explore the experience of Italian migrants to Australia and the culture they created here, reflecting their strong regional affiliations.

The museum also explores interactions between the Italian and non-Italian community, and the nature of contemporary Italian Australian identity.

Melbourne French Theatre is a unique Australian theatre company presenting plays in French, organising events and serving as an agency for French actors.

Founded in 1977, the theatre stages two to four productions each year, either entirely in French or with English surtitles.
